I'm a couple weeks late but here are three 'Happy Mother's Day' cards I made for a customer aka one of my bestfriends & supporters [hi Fonx!]. My dear friend asked for BIG ellaborate cards & he gave me full permission to do whatever I wanted with each, as long as it looked awesome. The end result came out to three big cards, each measured out to be 6"x12" (folded a full sheet of scrapbook paper in half).
First idea was an original idea I had a year ago from my mother. I had one more sheet of the flower pattern paper & I made a big scale version of it. I used green & blue gems on each flower & created top/bottom borders using Japanese washi tape. The letter stickers are from American Crafts & I added glitter on top of each letter to add the same sparkle effect as the gems give off.
I decorated the inside of the card as well & added a flowery background on top while leaving the bottom blank for Fonx to write his own personal message.
For card #2, my main goal was to cover the entire card with embossing. On the kraft card, I embossed the outer borders with leaves & colored them in with Copic markers. The flowers were created using Martha Stewart's flower stamp set. I embossed it (with American Craft's Zing in white) over pattern paper from American Crafts. The blue letters are Thickers from.. you guessed it, American Crafts! As a finishing touch, I also added twine (in red, green, & brown) on the bottom of the embossed flower piece.
I created the same leaf embossed border inside the card as well. Also everything I used in this card is mainly from American Crafts. I'm beginning to really love this company & hope to get more products, especially from the Lizzie collections.
The final card has to be my favorite. I created a little picture using a bunch of stamp sets & felt stickers. Most of the stamps used are from Hero Arts & I colored the images in with Copic markers. I also added glossy accents to certain parts of the stamp, like on the flowers/hearts from the trees or on windows from the airplane. The blue scrapbook used as the card is from DCWV & the green grass is a pattern paper from Basic Grey.
I am in love with the felt stickers, especially the little cute blue house. And how cute is that sun?!?! I wish I knew how to make those from scratch.. maybe with the Silhouette machine [hmm got to try that soon].
I kept the inside of the card really simple. I used two airplanes carrying banners, the place where the names will be written. Since the inside of the card is blank, I decided to make a decorative envelope for the card & use the same stamped images. I only colored in certain parts of the stamps as outlines with Copic markers [I made envelopes for the other 2 cards but I forgot to take pictures since I was in a rush to get them done.. yea I know *smh at myself].
For my mom, I remade card #3 for her but inside I'm adding photos of us. I haven't uploading those photos yet but once I do, I'll put them on here as well. Well off I go to clean my house & study/work. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
