I'm taking a break right now from studying to pop in & just say hello! It's been super long since my last post & to make up for it, I made a card I'd like to share here! This card is for my online penpal [hi Audrey!] whom I've been talking to since February. I wanted to break the online connection & write her a personal handwritten letter as well as send her this super cute card.
The main focus of the card is the peacock stamp I used from Hero Arts. To color it in, along with the cute bug, I used Copic markers. I know my shading is out of line but I'm still practicing & testing out how to blend in the colors. To add extra oomph! I added glossy accents to the feathers of the peacock. The papers I used came from the Mod-Retro paper stack from DCWV. I didn't realize until after the card was done that I incorporated red, white & blue colors, perfect since 4th of July is next Monday! Smart without realizing it... oh!
Inside of the card has the same top & bottom borders as the front. I didn't have enough blue pattern paper to make the bottom border reach out to the edges so underneath I added the red checked paper to improvise. I tried to be creative & extend the stamped 'a happy hello' sentiment with my own handwriting but I think I went a little overboard?! It would have looked better with no !!! but it's not a big deal to me.

Almost forgot to tell you, Happy July! In one week, I'll be done with my summer class & get back to updating my blog more frequently than June. I'm giving myself a big challenge & that is to post a new project (big or small) every day for the month of July. I know it's pretty insane for me considering I don't even update the blog every day but I'm going to try my hardest. Well back to studying I go! I might be back either today or tomorrow with a list of monthly goals.
