I've been so busy with studying the past month that I never got the time to craft. So to ease back into it, I decided to make ATCs, also known as artist trading cards. I didn't have anything specific in mind - I really just wanted to make something.
I looked into my stamp set collection & picked out the stamps that sparked my interest at that moment. While watching season 3 of Scrubs (my "new" favorite TV show.. I love Netflix!), I managed to come up with 3 small cards. Could I have made more? Of course! Should I have made more? Yeap. Should I have watched Scrubs while crafting? Probably not. Do I regret my decision? Hell no `=]

The stamp set used for card #1 was from Studio G [Hampton Art]. This was simple to make & the entire card is colored in with Copic Sketch markers (now that I think about it.. all 3 ATCs I'm about to show are colored in with Copic markers..)
Pros? The color combination & the glossy accents finishing touch on the leaves. Cons? To many 'hi' circles.. could have just kept the 'hello' one & leave it at that. Maybe even gloss the 'thinking of you' sentiment..

For card #2, I used two clear stamps from Autumn Leaves. I made a rainbow effect with the flowers & tried my best at shading. Can you see my shading skills.. or lack thereof?
Pros? The pretty colors & glitter/gloss effects on the flowers & butterfly. I am overly proud of the pink & blue shading on the butterfly. Cons? Ehh I went over the lines like a 4 year old again, especially on the yellow flower. And the gloss on the butterfly's antenna.. yea can do withOUT.

And finally card #3! I used the same 'hello' circle stamp from before but the flowers & peacock are from Hero Arts. This is where I got the inspiration to make the 'HEY! Peacock card from Friday [shown here].
Pros? Honestly, not many.. maybe the glitter parts on the flower. Cons? Umm everything! There's ink smudges, colors not blended well, etc. etc. [Yes I am my own worst critic.]
In all honestly, these cards should be in the 'throw it away right now because it looks like crapo' pile. I shouldn't even post this online & a year ago, I would have even been embarrassed to make these. So why am I showing these to you? [Warning: cliche coming up in about .5 seconds] Because practice makes perfect!
Sometimes you just need to experiment & play around with your supplies in order to get the next project looking amazing. I wasn't expecting any to look like a framed piece of artwork. I just wanted to use my supplies that have been collecting dust for about a month. And trust me, I probably have more 'what were you thinking vee?!?!' moments than that 'wow I want to keep this for myself now!' like most of you have (unless you were born as the next Picasso) & that is A-ok by me `=]!
Now that I'm done with my advice column for the week, I should get back to studying. I got 2 finals [lab practical & lecture final exam] & I'm now starting to freak out because these grades make or break my chances of getting an A for the entire class! I'm happy it's raining too so I don't feel bad that I'm missing out on beach or bbq time (sorry to the rest who have to suffer). I'll be back tomorrow with another new card!
