Summer class is ending in exactly three days & although I'm glad it'll be all over soon, I know I'll miss the wise teachings of my professor. I've never had a favorite teacher in all my life. I always did what I was told & got the grades I needed to move forward. I never got to know any of my professors & because of that, never had the opportunity to ask any of them for recommendations or even extra help if I really needed it. Mostly because I was too shy & secondly I was proud to ask for help [dumb of me I know].
But I guess now that I've grown up [or at least I like to think I have just a little bit], I'm more open to listening what the professor has to say & actually raise my hand in class if I have a question. I actually sit in front of the class & hit the record button on my voice recorder. Thankfully my professor isn't boring & tells us little facts of the day pertaining to the lecture. We've even become buddies & he was actually the first person I've ever 'bumped' with on the iPhone. He didn't even hesitate to give me a recommendation for a hospital volunteering referrel.
All in all, I'm going to miss him. So to show him some appreciation, I made him a thank you card. The idea came from a stamp set I got from the $1 section of Target. In the set came 3 small wooden stamps: a rectangle one that said 'many thanks', a dotted circle with 'thank you so much' & a small square that had 'thank you' with dotted lines on the you. What better way to say thanks then to stamp it all over the card right?
All the patten papers used are from DCWV's 'the hittin' the books' paper stack. I fell in love with the scantron pattern paper & because every single exam or quiz I've ever taken in my Human A/P 2 class was scantron based, it made complete sense to use it & circle in the lettered bubbles. Of course I used a #2 pencil & then added glossy accents to each circled bubble.
You see the blue pattern paper with all the thank you's? I alternated stamping the circle & square stamps down the line. To make it more interesting, I stamped the circle 'thank you so much' onto different colored pattern papers then punched it out & dimensional adhered it on top of the original circle. Glossy accents was added on the circles too.
Last but not least the labels. Here's a trick if you don't have a die cutting machine.. if you have clothing catalogues that come with those small business card like coupons, use those to make labels! I take those coupons, outline it over paper & then cut the paper out & viola! You my friend have now got cute labels! I was lucky enough that the catalogue came these 2 labels in a smaller & bigger version, perfect to put one on top of the other.
I also took the 'you' from the square stamp & added it with the 'many thanks' stamp & then used alphabet stickers to complete the sentiment. The white outline on the kraft label is made using a white gel pen & both labels are dimensional adhered to the card.
