Looking back at past blog posts I realize I never put up my Mother's Day card for my mom. I decided to go for the scenic route as I did previously here. I was lucky that my Lawn Fawn stamps arrived just before giving mom her card so I added more elements to the card than the previous one.
This card has to be one of the most time consuming projects I've ever done, mostly because I made doubles of every stamped image. Each stamped image is colored in with Copic Sketch markers, glossed with Ranger's Glossy Accents, & adhered to the card with 3D adhesives. The only things not stamped (other than the background) are the felt house, rainbow, cloud & the red 'happy mother's day' banner.
Of course I had to add in photos of us three siblings inside the card. Since my brother graduated from high school this year, I decided to put pictures of us in our cap & gown attire. Now that all three kids are high school graduates, I haven't seen my mom this happy in a while. I wanted to remind her that 'Look Ma, we did it!!! Woohooooo!!!" I think she likes the inside of the card more than the outside haha.
[[ NOTE: In case you were wondering, the photos go in order from oldest to youngest: me, sis, & lil bro. ]]
I wanted to use the Lawn Fawn polaroid stamp (I seriously try to find any excuse to use it!) but the photos were small in width. Instead I made my own polaroid photos using white cardstock & a thin black marker. I cut the insides of the polaroid out using X-acto knife.
I didn't make an envelope for the card like I did for the previous one. My mom likes to hang all my handmade cards on the fridge so I figured there was no point of an envelope. I don't think I made an envelope for last year's card either.. [yeah, I didn't]
Well day 2 of my monthly challenge is complete! I've already planned out a week's worth of crafty projects to show you too. Now it's off to study the urinary system & hopefully clean my bathroom. Peace peace! `=]
