A year ago I was asked by a great friend to be one of her bridesmaids for her wedding in November. Of course I said yes but in the back of my mind I kept thinking, 'Oh no... bridesmaid dress!' Last week the bridal entourage went wedding dress shopping which later turned into delicious brunch at a dinner & bridesmaid dress shopping at David's Bridal. Food I can always accept but dress shopping for myself?!.. I was not looking forward to that moment. Trying on a few dresses put into perspective on how out of shape I've been for the past years. I knew I was bad but didn't know the reality of it until squeezing myself into double digit sizes.
This is exactly the kick in the butt motivation I needed. I have over 6 months from now to lose all this excess weight. So after class rather than taking my daily nap, I suited up (more like sweated up) & power walked on the tracks behind my house. Of course the day I decide to work out is the day mother nature decide to hit me with cold winds. I lasted 35 minutes before my hands went numb (silly me forgot to wear gloves).
Still it's a start I'm content with it. Tomorrow is a new day & I'll be more prepared. Until then I'm going to enjoy tonight's dinner: lean chicken & black bean on whole wheat tacos w/ lots of veggies!
